I went to the Edinburgh crop on Saturday, and as usual did very little. I am no good at scrapping at crops. I forget things, and end up with incomplete pages. However I do like the company, and on Saturday I learned a lot from Heather about stamping and twinkling H2Os, and Yvonne brought along a couple of cjs for me to look at too. I have finished all my DT work for Jillybeans, but am finding it hard to take decent photographs of them because of the poor light- too dark before and after work, so I have to wait until the weekend before photographing them. I have finished all my projects for Lianne at Little Silver Hat and emailed them off tonight. I loved using all those gorgeous ribbons she sent me.
For some time now I have enjoyed blog hopping, especially those of Australian scrappers, cause there is so much talent there. However a scrapcritic blog, that was supposedly set up to allow anonymous constructive criticism has turned into an outright nasty bitch, and venting of petty jealousy has caused a great deal of hurt and upset, so much so that some of my favourite scrappers have shut down their blogs, and resigned from DTs. So sad, because they were so inspirational and I will miss peaking into their galleries so much.
Talking of Aussie scrappers, Carole Janson left a comment on my blog yesterday, so thank you Carole for taking the time. It is much appreciated.

This weekend I went shopping- I am am in need of some new clothes, but as often happens, I came away with nothing, and Emily, who accompanied me, and needed school shoes, ended up with new jeans and a new top as well, and Jack ended up with new pj's. So I still need new clothes. I really don't enjoy clothes shopping at all, and now I have to do it again some time.
Scrapping wise, I worked on the Lippychick Flip book. I am really happy with how it is progressing- just need to but some nice soft olive green ribbon for tying it closed. I also did some more bits and peices using the lush ribbon and blossoms from Lianne at Little Silver Hat, so now I have nearly finished using all the ribbon up.
but all too soon it is Sunday evening and it's back to work tomorrow. I really enjoy my job, but find Mondays hard cause I love my weekends more! Today's photo is the LO I did for Jillybeans using Daisyd's paper.

I won a set of Dream St papers from Rebecca's scrapbooking stash. Rebecca ran a competition on UKS to scrap something and upload it while UKS was down yesterday. I made a peace sign for Emily's christmas. Emily is just a hippie at heart, (as you can see from yesterday's post), so I think she will like the sign. If not I can always use it as a christmas decoration. I love all the Dream St papers and had a hard time choosing but eventually settled on the 'Paint Your World' set.
The LO I have uploaded today uses Pebble Inc double sided halloween papers, sent to me by Willowtree Crafts for the design team gallery. I love double sided papers- they are such good value. These papers are really great quality heavy papers too. The word 'witch' is made from Junkitz peel off letters and the rest of the title is Basic Grey. I've outlined all the letters with my wonderful white uniball signo (Rebecca sells them)pen to make them stand out. Have you visited Willowtree craft's site lately? it has been revamped and has lots of interesting articles to read as well as the DT gallery to view.
What else have I done...Workwise I did an inservice presentation today to teachers and nursery nurses about ways of working with autistic kids, and received very positive feedback. Hopefully I have made a little bit of difference towards increasing understanding of this complex and disabling condition.

another scrappy weekend

I've had a very productive scrapping weekend. Emily was at guide camp (first one she has been to where it didn't rain all weekend)so the house was pretty quiet. I did the International Dare, and I have uploaded it here. What a great dare it was. I really wanted to do a childhood memory one but my printer is out of ink, so I couldn't print off one of the two photos I have of me as a child. I'm not sure why we have very few family photos- probably because we lived in the outback, hundreds of miles from the nearest town to buy film, get photos developed etc. Also I am the fifth of seven children, so I think the novelty had worn off somewhat- there are lot more photos of the two eldest, than of the rest of us. Also over the years the photos have been lost, albums raided and split up, with the result that I have only two very blurry childhood photos. Well my kids won't have that problem will they? Anyway, I loved doing the dare, and am happy with my page. I think it is all self explanatory- the paint was used on the flowers, title on photo, my daughter's dreams (well a couple of them)and all the cardstock covered. I also have nearly completed a Lippy Chick flip book, with great Halloween papers from Willowtree Crafts- just two more triangles left to do, but I have to wait for my printer ink to arrive. I know it makes sense to order spare inks, but I have had my printer for so long I can't believe it is not going to break down, and I don't want to be left with a pile of useless cartridges. Friday nights- love 'em!

Don't ya just love Friday nights, knowing that a whole weekend lies ahead? I'm sitting here surfing the net, blog hopping- love to do that too. Glass of red wine.. too good. Emily has gone to guide camp, Jack is playing computer games in another room, hubby has lit a lovely coal fire- just great.
One of my colleagues at work went off on maternity leave today- another Aussie, what you see is what you get with her, and I will miss having her around. We had a baby shower at work- love those too, such cute things for babies around aren't there.
Scrapping wise what have I done this week? A halloween LO for Willowcrafts, and am starting on using some of the lush ribbon from 'Little Silver Hat'. Lianne sent a gorgeous selection of christmas ribbon, so I have made some cards this week. I have also completed a LIPPYCHICK flop book- it is of a Halloween party my daughter attended last week while I was at the retreat. I can't believe how bad the photos were though. She took the camera with her, and most of the photos were so blurred they were useless. Even the ones taken at home by DH were terrible. They were using the little automatic point and shoot camera and still couldn't get it right. I am beginning to think there is a problem with the camera, the blurry hand is always on, even when set to off. I am going to get another one for Malcolm for christmas I think.
