I've been MIA for a while now. Been busy with some magazine work, but mostly been on holidays, including the fantastic GoGo retreat-a triumph of organisation. Everything ran so smoothly, the classes were fantastic, the hotel comfortable-a room to myself too, which is a BONUS in my book, and the food was terrific too! Best of all I got to meet really friendly, inspiring people!!
That was followed by a trip to London-Travelodge Covent Garden-cheap as chips if you book early, and so well located for all the sights. The highlight for me was the David Hockney exhibition at the British Academy. His use of colour was so inspirational!
In complete contrast to London we then had a week on beautiful Skye, walking, cycling, taking photos and relaxing.
This was the view from our bedroom window:
The two tree on the left of the top photo are the same ones you see here one day when the sky was particularly dramatic!
Eilean Donan Castle on a still morning:

And some details on a derelict building:
I thought I'd finish off today with a layout from Last month's Scrapagogo kit.
I have a couple of new layouts from the April kit to share over the next few days too.
School photos are not something that I normally tend to scrap, but the March ScrapaGoGo kit was perfect for the this old school photo of the kids. Their school uniform was brown and yellow-I find it hard to believe anyone would think that was a good idea!!
To make this layout I got out my trusty craft knife and cut all the pictures and patterns out from the white frame. I really like this effect as you get the hexagon pattern to add some interest to the cards stock, but you retain a lightness to the layout. Then I added some pictures back in, some embellishments, and some machine stitching.
That's all.=-easy!!
