Summer blogging...

..I don't think I'm much of a summer blogger. Blogging does seem to me to be something that's best done on a winter's evening in front of the fire. Not that we've had much in the way of summer mind you! But still, the evenings are light and there seems to be other things to do these days!
I have been scrapping and doing arty bits, but just not the blogging of them!

Anyway, here's a layout I did a while ago. It's part of the Scraplift  challenge over at Scrapagogo. I was sent a layout to scraplift, and my resulting layout is sent on to the next person in the chain to lift. The challenge is now far enough along for me to be able to show this layout without spoiling the challenge I think.

This layout consists mainly of stamping and misting techniques. The stamps are by Kaisercrafts and Prima. I have to say I love this layout, and it's nice to do a layout about my son for a change!

Where did the time go?

I have been working on some layouts using the new June kit from ScrapaGoGo, and I realized I haven't finished showing the layouts made from the May kit. So here goes:

This is the third layout I made from the kit. It's a pretty simple layout, with layered papers, and some die cuts. I just bought the large butterfly die in the recent Sissix sale, so I gave it an outing on this page. I also half stamped the telephone dial along the side of the layout for some added interest.

and finally, my favourite make with the kit was this card:

I made it to give to the secretary at work to thank her for all the great work she does. There are lots of stationery elements on this card, including the index card, the money envelope, paperclips, and staples. The tag is stamped with 'Thank You'.
I'm pleased to say she was chuffed to bits to get it!

ET Phone Home

I really struggled to find a title for this layout, and now, writing this blog post, I come up with one-too late!! 'ET Phone Home' would have worked well since ET are my daughter's initials!
Anyway, this is the first layout I made with the May ScrapaGoGo kit. This kit had an office/workplace/telephone vibe, hence the reason I chose this photo to scrap. I could have chosen any number of phone box photos, since I seem to have a thing for photographing red phone boxes-and red letter boxes for that matter!
I kept this layout quite simple-some misting through a number stencil. It seemed in keeping with the telephone number patterned paper. The telephone dial stamp came in the kit-it's really cute!!

I love the colour combination of this layout-mainly neutral with that pop of red and accents of yellow and black.

May: 12 in 12

Over at ScrapaGoGo we have a 12 in 12 challenge- 12 layouts in 12 months, one for each  month of the year. A record of the Year 2012. What I like about the challenge is that it's manageable!!

This month the prompt was to make a layout that looks a bit like a pin up board.
I'm scrapping A4 sized double layouts for this challenge.
I first covered my 'pinup board' in patterned paper from the May Scrapagogo kit, and then I made a frame using the woodgrain paper. After that I hung some photos on string, and attached other photos using brads.
Here's the result:
