Merly Impressions

Recently I got to play with the 'Shine Bright' collection from Kaisercrafts. This collection is one of my all time favourites. I love the graphic quality, and the retro colour palette of black, white. grey and sunshine yellow.
Here are three layouts I made using this collection:

I love the die cut collectables that Kaisercrafts do for each collection. They make putting a layout together a breeze! You can see more details on the Merly Impressions blog here.

This great chevron design paper was my favourite from the collection. For a tip about faux dimension see the Merly Impression blog here.

And finally I wanted to show that you could do something completely different and unexpected with this collection. there is a step by step showing how I made this on The Merly blog here.

Do you love this collection as much as I do?

May Calendar Challenge

Well May is here so it's time for the May altered calendar page

Here are  the rules for May.

1. Keep a part of the original picture and incorporate that into your design
2. Technique - Make marks,... scratching or stamping into texture paste/thick gesso/spackle/glue anything that will hold the shape
3. Add – an image that depicts your star sign/horoscope (drawing, painting, magazine image)

And here's my page:

which started out like this:

I used grunge paste, stencils and acrylic paint. And my star sign is Aquarius-the water carrier.
